In 1990, David and Christine Persson had a vision to open a "hands on" Educational store for teachers and parents. Today, The School Box is a business with more then 300 employees, 15 retail locations, national catalog and website. Headquatered in Kennesaw, Georgia, The School Box is the Southeast's largest family-owned and operated retail edicational store.
The vision began when Christine began teaching first grade in Marietta, Goergia. David realized the need for quality educational stores after spending many hours shopping with his wife. After several years of researching and educating, David and Christine opened their first store in Marietta, Georgia. Over the years, The School Box has grown to 13 stores in Georgia and 2 in Tennessee... and is still growing!
Our helpful, knowledgeable and experienced staff continue to provide execellent customer service and sontinuously receives training on the latest, and the best educational standards and products. Our staff consists of many teachers and former teachers... that is why we take pride in the fact that we offer our customers over a hundred years of teaching experience to help them find the best educational products for their children.
The School Box has established itself as a well-respected business and supportive corporate citizen. We continue to support a number of local events including: The Twelve Days of Caring / Children's Restoration Network, 11 Alive Can-O-thin, Breast Cancer Rally, Be a hero... Pack a Backpack Campaign, 11 Alive Class Act, 6 WATE Teacher of the Month, Camp Twin Lakes partner's Card, and Toys for Tots Tennessee. Throughout the year we also make numerous donations to schools, church groups, charitable organizations and more.
